User Question: Hello, if a person has already applied for asylum, do they also have to fill out Form G-325R?

Expert

Expert Answer: No, Form G-325R (Biographic Information) is not required for an asylum application. In most cases, asylum applicants provide biographical information within Form I-589 (Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal). However, if you are applying for other immigration benefits, such as adjustment of status or certain waivers, USCIS or the immigration court may request additional biographic information, including Form G-325A (the more commonly used version). Always check USCIS instructions or consult an immigration attorney if you are unsure whether the form is required in your specific case.
