User Question: I need a favor. I entered the U.S.A in 2019. My hearing has been changed six times. My final asylum hearing was on January 24. After attending, the judge put my decision on hold and said the final decision would be made in March (after two months). Today, when I checked my case status, it shows a master hearing in September, even though I have already completed those in the past. Can anyone please explain the possible outcomes or help me out?

Expert Answer: It is possible that the court system updated your case incorrectly or scheduled a follow-up hearing for administrative reasons. Sometimes, a master hearing appears on the system as a placeholder until a decision is finalized. You should contact the court directly or ask your attorney to verify the next steps. If the judge already indicated a decision in March, that timeline likely still applies, but checking with EOIR at 1-800-898-7180 or speaking to your lawyer is the best course of action.
