User Question: It has been 35 days since I applied for EAD but have not yet received approval/decision. Can I make a direct call to the center at this stage, or should I wait for 10 more days?

Expert

Expert Answer: It is common for EAD applications to take **30–45 days** to process, though some cases may take longer.

### What You Can Do at This Stage:
1. **Check Your Case Status Online** – Go to [USCIS Case Status](https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) and enter your receipt number to see any updates.
2. **Review USCIS Processing Times** – Check the average processing times for **Form I-765 (C08 category)** on the [USCIS Processing Times page](https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/).
3. **Wait Until 45 Days** – While you can contact USCIS now, they usually recommend waiting **at least 45 days** before making an inquiry about delays.
4. **If No Update After 45 Days:**
- Call **USCIS Customer Service** at **1-800-375-5283** and ask for an update.
- Submit an **e-Request for case delay** on the [USCIS website](https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/).

Since you are at **35 days**, it is best to wait another **10 days** before contacting USCIS, unless your case status shows an issue or you received a Request for Evidence (RFE).
