I applied for asylum 150 days ago. I am gonna apply for a work permit and SSN now. So my question is how long is it supposed to take to receive an SSN and work permit? Thanks.

Once you apply for your work permit (EAD) after the 150-day mark, the processing time can vary. Generally, it takes anywhere from 1 to 6 months to receive the EAD, depending on USCIS processing times. If you requested an SSN when filing your EAD application, you should receive your SSN card automatically a few weeks after your EAD is approved. However, if you do not receive it, you may need to visit a Social Security office to apply in person.
