User Question: I am a pending asylum case (Not yet interviewed). I have the EAD and SSN, but I am receiving job offers that require travel abroad for training purposes and site work in Mexico or Canada. Is there a way to get parole for travel, or will it affect my case?

Expert Answer: As an asylum applicant, you may apply for Advance Parole (Form I-131) to travel outside the U.S. without abandoning your asylum application. However, traveling to your home country or spending extended periods abroad may negatively impact your case. Consult with an immigration attorney before applying to ensure it aligns with your asylum claim.
