User Question: I have two sons, 15 and 12 years old. I'm going to file an initial EAD application online. Should I prepare and submit the EAD form for my sons? Who should sign in the applicant's signature box—me or my sons? If me, should I sign with their names or my name? I'm confused about the correct filing procedure for minors. Please help.

Expert Answer: Yes, you can file Form I-765 for your minor children if they are eligible based on their pending asylum (C08) or another qualifying status. A parent or legal guardian should sign for children under 14. For your 12-year-old, sign as ‘Parent for [Child’s Name].’ Your 15-year-old should sign the form themselves unless unable to do so. When filing online, each child needs a separate USCIS online account. Include proof of identity (passport or birth certificate), proof of pending asylum (Form I-589 receipt notice), and any other required documents.
